Norton Hospital offers a full range of services to provide the birth experience you want. You can choose as little medical intervention as possible with the confidence that specialized expertise is close by if you or your baby need it. If you are having twins or more, have been diagnosed with preeclampsia, heart disease or other complications, our maternal-fetal medicine specialists will work with your obstetrician and pediatric specialists to prepare.
Women routinely deliver with midwives at Norton Hospital, and we offer doula services at no cost to eligible patients for support and personalized care.

Norton Hospital’s labor and delivery unit is located on the third floor of the hospital in downtown Louisville, at the corner of Brook and Chestnut Streets. There are designated spots on the third floor of the garage labeled “Parking for Women in Labor.”
Patients can be dropped off at the entrance on the second floor of the parking garage. Free valet parking is available Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., on the second floor of the garage.
The parking garage can be accessed from 200 E. Chestnut St. at the front of the hospital or in the back at 203 E. Gray St.
If you park on the third floor of the garage, proceed to the glass door next to the third-floor elevators and press the black button for security to open the door to the Norton Hospital walkway. Alternatively, you may take the garage elevator to the second floor, enter the hospital and take the hospital elevator to the third floor.
Follow the red signs to the OB Emergency Department. Press the button on the wall and tell the staff whether you are in labor or whether your provider sent you for testing.
Parking in the garage is free with validation.
TARC routes 19, 21 and 52 stop in front of the hospital.
Visitors to the Norton Hospital mother and baby unit may park in the garage, then head to the third floor of the hospital. Look for signs that will lead you to each postpartum unit (3G, 3R, 3S). Once you arrive at the unit, press the button on the wall, state your name, and let the staff know whom you are visiting.
Norton Women’s Care offers free childbirth classes in-person in the downtown Louisville area, including at Institute for Health Equity, a Part of Norton Healthcare, and via Zoom.
